Abstract

A compact frequency selective surface (FSS) with ultra-wideband bandpass response is presented. Its −3 dB bandwidth is from 5.85 to 18.45 GHz and the unit periodicity is about λ0/9 for the lower passband. Moreover, such a FSS has the merits of low profile, flat passband and stable performance for various incident angles within 30° and different polarisations. The design procedure and measurement results of the FSS are presented and discussed.
