[{Cp(CO) 2 Fe} 2 SnCl 2 ] (1) reacts with (Me 3 Si) 2 Se to form the compounds [{Cp(CO) 2 Fe} 4 Sn 2 Se 2 ] (2) and [{Cp(CO) 2 Fe} 4 Sn 4 Se 6 ] (3). The structures of 2 and 3 were determined by X-ray structure analysis. 2 contains a four-membered Sn 2 Se 2 ring. In 3 an adamantane-like Sn 4 Se 6 cage is observed. The reaction of [{Cp(CO) 2 Fe} 2 SnCl 2 ] with (Me 3 Si) 2 S leads to [Cp 4 (CO) 7 Fe 4 Sn 3 S 4 ] (4) a compound with a tricyclic Sn 3 S 4 Fe cage.
