Design of a novel triangular wideband microstrip slot antenna with band-notched characteristic

Abstract

A new type of a triangular wideband slot antenna was proposed. The proposed antenna consisted of a triangular-fed microstrip and a triangular-wide slot. The slot was opened at the GND board and the feed was on the other side of the substrate. The triangular antenna size for design is length of 50 mm and height of 1 mm. In order to achieve band-notched characteristic, a aperture was loaded on the patch and the relatively position of the aperture was adjusted. By HFSS simulation software, the impedance bandwidth, radiation patterns were simulated. The results showed that the work bandwidth were over 2.3 GHz to 4.2 GHz except 3.5 GHz frequency. Thus the compact wideband band-notched antenna can be realized.
