Intercalation of Alkali Metal Cations into Layered Organotitanium Oxides

Abstract

Deprotonation of the complex [{Ti(η5-C5Me5)(μ-O)}3(μ3-CH)] with different alkali metal alkyl and amide reagents provides a method for the intercalation of alkali-metal ions into layered organometallic titanium oxides (see picture). The process and the structures were analyzed by DFT calculations.
