Characterization of spin-crossover and related transition metal complexes within density functional theory

Abstract

La theorie de la Fonctionnelle de la Densite est appliquee a l'etude des complexes [Per(II)-tris(2,2'-bipyridine)] [cobalt(II)-tris(2,2'-bipyridine)] et [cobalt(II)-bis(2,2'-:6,2''-terpyridine)] et du compose d'inclusion [Per(II)-tris(2,2'-bipyridine) dans zeolite gama] en relation avec le phenomene de transition de spin. La structure, l'energetique et les proprietes spectroscopiques (absorption, dichroisme circulaire, Mossbauer et RPE) de ces complexes ont ainsi ete caracterises dans les etats bas-spin et haut-spin. En particulier, l'analyse des resultats obtenus avec differentes fonctionnelles d'echange-correlation montre que le choix de la fonctionnelle d'echange est critique pour la determination precise des differences d'energie haut-spin/bas-spin. L'etude de [Per(II)-tris(2,2'-bipyridine)] dans zeolite gama dans une approche supramoleculaire a permis l'analyse des interactions hote-invite et la quantification de l'influence de la deuxieme sphere de coordination sur la geometrie et l'energie du [Per(II)-tris(2,2'-bipyridine)] dans les differents etats de spin.
