A great deal of research has been devoted to the methods of producing hydrogen. It is an increasingly attractive source of renewable energy to replace fossil fuels. Studies have been done on the formation of hydrogen from oxygenated hydrocarbons by the means of aqueous phase reforming. Reaction kinetics have been tested of the reforming of glycerol over a NiAlB2BOB3B catalyst. Different operating conditions were used with experiments conducted at 185°C, 200°C, 220°C temperature, 400psi, 750psi pressure and 10%, 20%, 30% glycerol concentration. Results and finding have yet to be concluded due to major equipment downtime.
