Emotion Recognition from Facial Expressions

Abstract

Emotion recognition from facial expressions is a crucial area in human-computer interaction (HCI), artificial intelligence (AI), and behavioural research. This research focuses on developing a system capable of automatically detecting human emotions—such as happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear, and disgust—using computer vision and deep learning techniques. The system leverages convolutional neural networks (CNN) to analyse facial features and classify emotions with high accuracy. This study aims to improve real-time emotion detection applications, including mental health monitoring, customer behaviour analysis, and interactive learning environments.
