The learning train is an innovative strategy for the literacy process, which allows the student to develop linguistic skills such as phonological recognition, syllable formation and text writing. For this reason, the research aims to explain that through this strategy they improve the literacy process in students of Elementary Basic General Education. It is necessary to mention that the deductive method and field research with a mixed approach were used to develop the work. In the results achieved, in the years 2018 and 2022, the percentage of people nationwide who did not know how to read or write went from 6.5% to 6%, as a result of Covid-19, due to little access to teacher training, the excessive workload and the lack of support from parents which made the teaching-learning process difficult. After the application of the strategy, improvements are observed in fluent reading, phonological recognition and text comprehension, and parents are motivated and interested in their children's learning process. Finally, the learning train allows children to acquire significant knowledge to function in their social, academic and family life.
