Abstract

The present investigation examines the situation of women in the Restoration society through the novel Crimen legal by Alejandro Sawa. It is analyzed, in this way, the reification that female characters suffer when they play the married middle-class woman and prostitute. In spite of their disparity, both cases, are shown as a denunciation against the gender oppression.
