In the 21st century, military conflicts continue to act as a tool for resolving interstate contradictions that are not settled by political methods. At the same time, methods of using military force and means of destruction have undergone significant changes, becoming more accurate, more powerful and more destructive. Humanity suffers damage from their use not only in the socio-economic, but also in the environmental spheres. The current political mechanism for the prevention and settlement of military conflicts continues to be a deterrent to the escalation of armed conflicts, but needs to be modernized taking into account modern realities. The article examines the impact of military conflicts on environmental security and political aspects of its provision, taking into account the current military-political situation.
