Abstract

Frailty is a clinical condition that leads to decline and vulnerability. It is frequent in elderly people, who nowadays represent one third of patients who undergo surgical procedures. This condition is associated with poor health outcomes and increased costs of health care, and its early detection should lead us to develop preventive interventions that help maintain the quality of life of the elderly population.
