MR (magneto-rheological) dampers in semi-active control have rapid variated damping properties with very low power requirements. A revised Bingham model is used to describe the nonlinear damping force for MR damper of auxiliary floating raft isolation system in ship. The model with hysteresis characteristics is simple in expression and convenient for theoretical analysis. Nonlinear dynamic equation of the floating raft isolation system is established based on the model. A theoretical solution of dynamical response and vibration transmissibility for the ship floating raft semi-active isolation system are obtained by average method, which is verified by numerical solution with Matlab. In addition, the effect of model parameters of MR damper on the system爷s vibration isolation is studied by taking transmissibility as index. The research results provide theoretical basis for designing the nonlinear vibration isolation system of auxiliary floating raft and then the vibration can be controlled more effectively.
