Abstract

This data file contains measured values of VOT (of the onset), vowel duration, F0, F1 and F2 in CVC words (e.g., bed/bet) produced by 12 native English speakers and 24 Korean learners of L2 English. The target words occur in varying contexts: prosodic boundary (IP-initial vs. IP-medial), Focus (phonological focus, lexical focus, no focus), and pitch accent (pitch accented, unaccented). The results of the study have been reported primarily in J. Choi, S. Kim, T. Cho, Phonetic encoding of coda voicing contrast under different focus conditions in L1 and L2 English. Front. Psychol. 7: 624 (2016). https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyg.2016.00624
