Our department has been occupied with a variety of themes which cover a wide range of specialist fields. We have explored the imaginative and literary dimensions of Victorian writers from the viewpoint of their rhetoric about gender and sexuality. 2) Our study also examines the broader scope allowed by present-day media studies for our reading of the consequences of the developed print culture on Victorian men of letters. 3) We study the English lanlanguage from the Cognitive Linguistic perspective. 4) We study the languages of the world from the cognitive-typological perspective. 5) We examine whether culture plays a role in plagiarism. 6) We look at the manner in which Japan is portrayed in Western media and film.
