Synthesis of MOFs and Their Composite Structures through\nSacrificial-Template Strategy

Abstract

Exemplified\nby chemical conversion of ZnO nanostructures into zeolitic\nimidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) nanostructures, a sacrificial-template\nmethod has been demonstrated for the synthesis of metal–organic\nframeworks (MOFs) and their composite structures which may not be\nattainable by other methods. Their properties were investigated and\nthe formation mechanism of ZIF-8 nanostructures was discussed. This\nmethod shows the potential of the formation of various-shaped MOFs\nand their composite nanostructures and will broad the applications\nof MOFs and their derivatives.
