Room-Temperature\nSelf-Healing Glassy Luminescent Hybrid\nFilm

Abstract

The self-healing of glassy polymer materials on site\nhas always\nbeen a huge challenge due to their frozen polymer network. We herein\nreport self-repairable glassy luminescent film by assembling a lanthanide-containing\npolymer with randomly hyperbranched polymers possessing multiple hydrogen\n(H) bonds. Because of multiple H bonds, the hybrid film exhibits enhanced\nmechanical strength, with high glass transition temperature (<i>T</i><sub>g</sub>) of 40.3 °C and high storage modulus\nof 3.52 GPa, meanwhile, dynamic exchange of multiple H bonds enables\nits rapid room-temperature self-healing ability. This research provides\nnew insights in preparing mechanical robust yet repairable polymeric\nfunctional materials.
