In today’s digital era, university networks often face numerous cybersecurity threats due to their open and diversecomputing environments. This paper presents an automated system designed to scan and analyse vulnerabilitieswithin a university network. The proposed solution utilizes Nmap to perform host discovery, port scanning, andOS fingerprinting across a specified subnet. To enhance threat intelligence, the system integrates with the VulnersAPI, allowing the identification of known Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) associated withdetected services. The scan results—including IP addresses, operating systems, open ports, and vulnerabilities—are stored in a local SQLite database. A Flask-based web application provides users with a simple yet effectiveinterface to initiate scans, view recent reports, and explore historical results with pagination support. This toolaims to assist university IT departments in proactively managing cybersecurity risks, offering a lightweight, scalable, and real-time solution for internal network monitoring.
