Year: 2022 Journal:   Texas Digital Library (University of Texas)   Publisher: The University of Texas at Austin

Abstract

This review aims to summarize the latest perception hardware technology for automated vehicles and provide recommendations to the University of Texas at Austin’s EcoCar EV Challenge. The challenge is an inter-collegiate competition that assesses the team’s ability to retrofit a car given by General Motors to perform automated driving tasks. The review looks at LIDARs, cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors and makes recommendations to the team such as the type of camera to use, the LIDAR field of view, and more.
