This research overviews experimental pilot studies about the perception of one's own physical ability in older people and considers the desired methods of research. Current research indicates association between the inaccurate perception of one's own physical ability and falling accident. However, an attempt to overview pilot studies was not made because of difference in research's framework disunity of term. As the result of overview, it was suggested that the traditional idea that the inaccurate perception of one's own physical ability was specific to older people should be reconsidered. It was also suggested that empirical examination about factors affecting the perception of one's own physical ability was needed.
