Construction\nof Polymeric Metal–Organic Nanocapsule\nNetworks via Supramolecular Coordination-Driven Self-Assembly

Abstract

Polymeric\nmetal–organic nanocapsule networks (polyMONCs),\nwhere metal–organic nanocapsules (MONCs) are connected by functional\npolymers, could possess the properties of traditional polymers and\nalso retain the structures of MONCs. In this work, we constructed\nnovel polyMONCs based on Mg-seamed pyrogallol[4]arene-containing MONCs\nthrough supramolecular coordination-driven self-assembly. The MONCs\ncan be successfully polymerized using poly(ethylene glycol) as the\nlinker, and the prepared polyMONCs can be further made into gels with\nself-healing properties and stimuli responsiveness. Advantageously,\nsingle crystals of MONCs cross-linked by ethylene glycol/diethylene\nglycol were obtained, giving us direct perspectives to mimic and investigate\nthe self-assembly process of polyMONCs.
