Abstract

Many renewable energy sources are not available at any time in nature and some energy sources is reducing so the development of energy storage technologies is very important to converse the available energy and improve its utilization. The use of a phase change material (PCM) is a very promising technology for thermal energy storage. Classification of phase change materials are presented. The geometry of phase change material (PCM) container is considered one of the required important factors. Thermal energy storage is used in many engineering applications such as space heating and air conditioning, solar water heating and waste heat recovery systems.
