Bacterial\nNanometric Amorphous Fe-Based Oxide: A Potential\nLithium-Ion Battery Anode Material

Abstract

Amorphous Fe3+-based oxide\nnanoparticles produced by <i>Leptothrix ochracea</i>, aquatic\nbacteria living worldwide,\nshow a potential as an Fe3+/Fe0 conversion anode\nmaterial for lithium-ion batteries. The presence of minor components,\nSi and P, in the original nanoparticles leads to a specific electrode\narchitecture with Fe-based electrochemical centers embedded in a Si,\nP-based amorphous matrix.
