Highly\nStretchable and Transparent Electromagnetic Interference Shielding\nFilm Based on Silver Nanowire Percolation Network for Wearable Electronics\nApplications

Abstract

Future\nelectronics are expected to develop into wearable forms, and an adequate\nstretchability is required for the forthcoming wearable electronics\nconsidering various motions occurring in human body. Along with stretchability,\ntransparency can increase both the functionality and esthetic features\nin future wearable electronics. In this study, we demonstrate, for\nthe first time, a highly stretchable and transparent electromagnetic\ninterference shielding layer for wearable electronic applications\nwith silver nanowire percolation network on elastic poly(dimethylsiloxane)\nsubstrate. The proposed stretchable and transparent electromagnetic\ninterference shielding layer shows a high electromagnetic wave shielding\neffectiveness even under a high tensile strain condition. It is expected\nfor the silver nanowire percolation network-based electromagnetic\ninterference shielding layer to be beyond the conventional electromagnetic\ninterference shielding materials and to broaden its application range\nto various fields that require optical transparency or nonplanar surface\nenvironment, such as biological system, human skin, and wearable electronics.
