Dually Responsive\nJanus Composite Nanosheets

Abstract

Janus\ncomposite nanosheets of PNIPAM/silica/PDEAEMA are synthesized\nby sequential ATRP grafting two polymers from the corresponding sides\nof the Janus silica nanosheets. They are dually responsive to pH and\ntemperature since wettability of the two sides is tunable accordingly.\nThe nanosheets can serve as a responsive solid emulsifier. Type and\nstability of the emulsions are triggered by simply changing pH and\ntemperature.
