Abstract
A synthetic strategy of 4-benzyl-substituted 1,3-butadiene\nderivatives\nthrough Pd-catalyzed three-component coupling reaction of benzyl chlorides,\nalkynes, and monosubstituted alkenes is described. This tandem coupling\nreaction forms a C(sp<sup>3</sup>)–C(sp<sup>2</sup>) bond and\na C(sp<sup>2</sup>)–C(sp<sup>2</sup>) bond sequentially in\na single-step operation.
