This study examines the financial performance of four prominent private sector banks in India—HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Axis Bank—using ratio analysis for the period from 2020 to 2024. By analyzing key financial ratios, such as profitability, liquidity, and efficiency, this research provides a comprehensive overview of the banks' financial health and operational effectiveness. The analysis leverages secondary data sourced from Moneycontrol.com and annual reports of the respective banks. The findings reveal significant trends in profitability, risk management, and operational efficiency, offering valuable insights for investors, policymakers, and stakeholders. The study highlights the importance of ratio analysis in assessing the financial stability of banks, providing a comparative evaluation of the selected banks’ performance over the five-year period.
