Titanium Hollow-strut Lattice Metamaterials by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

Noronha, Jordan

Year: 2024 Journal:   OPAL (Open@LaTrobe) (La Trobe University)   Publisher: La Trobe University

Abstract

Dr. Noronha investigated the design of titanium hollow-strut lattices and established their manufacturability guidelines by laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing. The manufactured titanium lattices exhibited mechanical properties that surpassed the empirical limits of cellular metallic materials with comparable relative densities. The research findings extend perspectives on metallic lattice materials.
