Abstract

Graphene is a promising two-dimensional\nplatform for widespread\nnanophotonic applications. Recent theories have predicted that graphene\ncan also enhance evanescent fields for subdiffraction-limited imaging.\nHere, for the first time we experimentally demonstrate that monolayer\ngraphene offers a 7-fold enhancement of evanescent information, improving\nconventional infrared near-field microscopy to resolve buried structures\nat a 500 nm depth with λ/11-resolution.
