Cyclodextrin-Modified Gold Nanospheres

Abstract

A new procedure for the modification of gold nanospheres (2−7 nm diameter) with thiolated cyclodextrin\nreceptors is described. The resulting monolayer-protected nanoparticles behave as multisite hosts in aqueous\nmedia, engaging in host−guest interactions with guest molecules in the solution.
