3D Porous Metal−Organic Framework Exhibiting Selective Adsorption of\nWater over Organic Solvents

Abstract

A 3D porous metal−organic framework (MOF) with 1D open\nchannels has been constructed hydrothermally using ZnII and a\nrigid planar ligand IDC3- (imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate). This MOF\ncan adsorb water selectively over organic solvents and can be\nregenerated and reused. It also represents a rare example of a\nMOF with open channels that form/collapse reversibly upon\nhydration/dehydration.
