Abstract

Superhydrophobic and superoleophilic\nsponges were fabricated by\nimmersion in an ethanol solution of octadecyltrichlorosilane. The\nresulting coating strongly adheres to the sponges after curing at\n45 °C for 24 h. Absorption capacities of 42–68 times the\npolymerized octadecylsiloxane sponge weight were obtained for toluene,\nlight petroleum, and methylsilicone oil. These adsorption capacities\nwere maintained after 50 cycles.
