Wideband rectangular microstrip patch antenna with u-slot

Abstract

A wideband single layer coaxially fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna with a double U-slot on the patch is presented. With proper dimensions for the second U-slot bandwidth as high as 49.2% between 4.03 to 6.66 GHz is achievable. Simulation results based on HFSS package on return loss and E- and H-plane radiation patterns are provided. (5 pages)
