This article describes a surface grid generation method developped in the EUROMESH project, a project sponsored by the Comission of the European Communities. The surface grid is generated in two steps. In the first one, an algebraic grid is generated from the edge definition of the grid. In the second one, the inner points of the algebraic grid are projected on the geometric patches. These geometric patches are modelled as Bezier surfaces. The process is performed by dividing the surface of the object into rectangles or triangles (sub-faces). The curves defining these rectangles or triangles are the edge mesh. Some applications are shown.
