Abstract

Lyten’s revolutionary 3D Graphene is enabling the transition to a greener future through its high energy density lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. Li-S batteries also promise increased safety compared to that of Li-ion chemistries. As Li-S batteries move towards commercial application, it becomes critical to understand and characterize the safety performance of the cells across various form factors like pouch and cylindrical cells. This poster will highlight the various aspects of Li-S safety performance from internal abuse testing, including but not limited to over discharge test, over charge, and heat-wait-seek tests. Insight into 3 rd party safety validation results on pouch and cylindrical cells will also be discussed.
