The assessment of functional physical fitness, sarcopenia risk, grip strength, and cognitive decline in older adults is essential for determining health status, quality of life, level of dependency, and disease risk. Objective: To determine functional physical fitness, sarcopenia risk, grip strength, and cognitive decline in a group of older women participating in physical activity programs in the city of Bogotá. Methodology: A descriptive, cross-sectional study involving 631 older adults selected through non-probability convenience sampling. They were assessed using the Senior Fitness Test, the SARC-F sarcopenia risk questionnaire, dynamometry, and the Mini Mental State Examination questionnaire. Results: The results indicate the good state of abilities such as strength and dynamic balance, which were connected with the results of the sarcopenia risk assessment and grip strength. The need for specific resistance and flexibility training was highlighted, given their low levels and the incorporation of strategies to prevent cognitive decline. Discussion: For the study variables in active older women, values similar to those in previous studies were expected; however, wide variability in the results was evident. Conclusions. This study can be an indicator of the impact of physical activity promotion programs in Bogotá and their effect on the lifestyles of the individuals assessed.
