This study offers an overview of my master’s dissertation, which I defended in 2023, on the play “Bolo Republicano” (Republican Cake), staged in 2022 and 2023 in Belo Horizonte/MG. It explores the historical parallels between the military dictatorship and the political resurgence following the 2013 protests culminating in the 2016 coup by the experiences of two women from the same family but different generations. This research was conducted using the methodologies of artistic practice as research and performative research. In this study, themes such as autofiction, gender, memory, post-memory, and political resistance were central to the development of the writing of self. This publication will focus on the concepts of post-memory and autofiction and how the theatrical field can use them as a form of ethical and aesthetic political resistance.
