Abstract

Abstract In this paper, one-step template method is used to convert tar residue into porous carbon material (TWC) with higher value. The specific surface area of this series of carbon materials is as high as 876.76 m 2 /g, and the maximum adsorption capacity of p-nitrophenol is 176 mg/g. Through the investigation of the kinetics and isotherms of PNP adsorption by TWC-0.75, it was found that the adsorption process was multi-molecular layer adsorption. In addition to physical adsorption, the chemical properties of the material surface will also have a greater impact on the adsorption.
