Natural dyes are gaining popularity as practical, environmentally friendly substitutes for synthetic dyes in light of growing environmental concerns. The application of onion (Allium cepa) peels, an agricultural waste product, as a source of Pelargonidin dye for textile applications is examined in this study. Cotton fabrics were treated with mordants like alum to improve color fixation after the dye was extracted using a waterbased technique. The presence of several advantageous compounds was verified by phytochemical screening. The dyed textiles showed promise for use in the textile industries due to their good color stability.
