The objective of this research is to carry out a systematic review of the existing scientific literature on childhood depression taking into account the last 13 years (2010-2023). This disorder is a medical and social reality that has a great deal of textual information based on its scientific studies, and currently many cases can be found in educational institutions and at home. For a while there were no traces of childhood depression, but with the investigations that have been carried out, it has been possible to verify that there is a high incidence rate of childhood depression, which shows certain common symptoms with adult depression, but has other peculiarities that they make it possess distinctive features. Childhood depression is a disorder characterized by different mood disorders, but there are also other factors that can have a negative influence, such as the school, family and social environment, interfering with the person’s abilities and actions in different ways, degrees and durations. Each symptom varies depending on the stage of development in which the child is and various factors such as genetic and psychosocial.
