It discusses the teaching of Geography nowadays, the use of geotechnologies in the classroom and approaches an experience applied in technical high school in the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul. The bibliography prioritizes the construction of a geographic education, thinking about the formation of teachers and the construction of relationships that bring students closer to the space they live in. It brings a proposal of the use of software such as Google Earth in the construction of vectorial data essential for cartography and enhances the use of SIG’s such as Qgis in the school environment, presenting to students the possibilities of a Geography beyond the classroom and the production of scientific knowledge.
