SYNTHESIS OF CdS@Ti3C2/TiO2 NANOCOMPOSITES WITH FLOWER-LIKE SHAPES AND THEIR PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION PROPERTIES

Abstract

The successful synthesization of CdS@Ti 3 C 2 /TiO 2 nanocomposites is described in this paper. The phases, morphology, and photocatalytic properties have been investigated, respectively. Results showed that the photocatalytic activity of as-synthesized nanocomposites was greatly enhanced when proper CdS nanoparticles were introduced into the composites. The removal rate of brilliant green (BG) in solution reached 95% within 60[Formula: see text]min under visible light irradiation. The degradation rate remained at 84% after 5 times, which illustrated the excellent stability of the catalysts. The electrons (e[Formula: see text] and hydroxyl radicals (⋅OH) produced by nanocomposites could be regarded as the main active substances, which oxidized BG dyes in solution under visible light irradiation.
