Controllable atom transfer enables photoredox-catalyzed defluorinative alkylation of trifluoromethyl alkenes with polychloroalkanes

Abstract

A general and mild protocol for the selective activation of C–H and C–Cl bonds in polychloroalkanes via switchable atom transfer processes under photoredox catalysis is presented, enabling the defluorinative alkylation of α-trifluoromethyl alkenes.
