Coordinated control of a multi-motor electric drive of a scraper conveyor

Abstract

The problem of mechanical power imbalance in electric drive is considered. The existing methods of mechanical power equalization in multi-motor electric drive are analyzed and the method based on sliding mode is proposed. The results of modeling in MATLAB/Simulink environment showed that the proposed method provides the balance of mechanical power distribution between the drive motors in all modes of operation of the scraper conveyor (start-up, sudden increase in load and stop), both idling and high load with an error of no more than 5%.
