Abstract

The superiority of a region's economic sector is not only a positive effect on economic growth, but also a long-term indicator of the creation of new jobs so that the labor force of a region can be absorbed. The increase in GRDP is influenced by several supporting factors such as: wages, education, and the level of labor force participation. One of the interesting areas to study is East Java Province which has a center of economic growth in Surabaya City. Surabaya City as a growth center is also supported by the surrounding areas called Hinterland Surabaya such as Gresik Regency and Lamongan Regency. These two regions are regionally close but have different economic characteristics. This study aims to determine whether economic factors influence GRDP in Gresik Regency and Lamongan Regency which have different economic characteristics. In this study, the method used was quantitative with a multiple linear regression data analysis model conducted with the SPSS analysis tool. The result is that the TPAK variable has a significant positive effect on GRDP in Gresik Regency, while the UMK variable and the average length of schooling have no effect. In addition, the UMK variable has an effect on the GRDP of Lamongan Regency, while the average length of schooling and TPAK variables have no effect. It can be concluded that there are differences in influential variables between the two regions that have different purple sectors.
