Highly efficient hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol over Cu–Al2O3–ZnO catalyst

Abstract

The composite metal oxide synthesized by etching achieved over 99% conversion of FAL and selectivity for FOL in mild conditions. Synergy of low-valent Cu and acidic sites ensures high performance, cost-effectiveness, and stability.
