Pelanggaran Maksim Kesantunan Berbahasa pada Novel “Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar” Karya Tere Liye

Abstract

ABSTRAK Implikasi penelitian ini, yakni tuturan para tokoh dapat menjadi gambaran untuk para pembaca terkait bagaimana bentuk pelanggaran maksim kesantunan berbahasa berdasarkan teori Leech. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan wujud pelanggaran maksim kesantunan berbahasa yang ditemukan pada novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar karya Tere Liye. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan pelanggaran pada maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kedermawanan, maksim pujian, maksim kerendahan hati, maksim kesepakatan, dan maksim kesimpatisan. Pelanggaran yang paling dominan adalah pelanggaran maksim pujian. Hal ini dikarenakan novel ini memiliki permasalahan yang rumit dan penuh sentimen serta perbedaan pola pikir dan perbedaan strata sosial para tokoh membuat salah satu pihak merasa lebih tinggi daripada pihak yang lain sehingga penutur dengan mudahnya merendahkan lawan tuturnya. Kata kunci: pelanggaran, kesantunan, Leech, novel ABSTRACT This research aims to describe the forms of violations of language politeness maxims found in the novel "Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar" by Tere Liye. The method used is a qualitative research approach. Data collection techniques use listening and note-taking techniques. The results of the research showed that violations were found in the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of praise, the maxim of humility, the maxim of agreement, and the maxim of sympathy. The most dominant violation is the violation of the maxim of praise. This is because this novel has complicated problems and is full of sentiment and the differences in thought patterns and differences in the social strata of the characters make one party feel superior to the other party so that the speaker easily demeans the person he is speaking to. The research implies that the characters' speech can illustrate for readers regarding violations of language politeness maxims based on Leech's theory. Keyword: violations, politeness, Leech, novels
