Whisker‐Implanted Biomimetic Electronic Skin for Tactile Sensing and Blind Perception (Adv. Sci. 2/2025)

Abstract

Whisker‐Implanted Biomimetic Electronic Skin In article number 2408162, Mohammad Zarei, An Woo Jeong, and Seung Goo Lee describe the development of a biomimetic electronic skin integrated with artificial whiskers, inspired by the sensory abilities of rodents. This advanced skin demonstrates exceptional sensitivity, a broad sensing range, and high flexibility. The cover artwork illustrates a robotic rodent outfitted with this electronic skin, skillfully detecting obstacles and airflow as it navigates through a network of tunnels. [Image: see text]
