Vocabulary is the building material of language, and vocabulary teaching is a very important part in Chinese language teaching. Vocabulary learning has also been one of the focuses in second language acquisition research. Lack of vocabulary will make it difficult to improve any part of language learning such as listening, speaking, reading and writing. International Chinese language teachers should fully grasp theories of second language acquisition at home and abroad, pay attention to learners' acquisition, adhere to the principle of learner-centred and teacher-led, and adjust the teaching mode on this basis. Some studies have proved that the appropriate use of learning strategies can improve the efficiency of Chinese vocabulary acquisition, and at the same time, the study of the second language acquisition strategies used by learners will also play a positive role in promoting the teaching of international Chinese language teachers, who should improve the vocabulary teaching methods in accordance with the acquisition situation of the students, so as to optimise the teaching process.
