Microwave absorption by Co/Ce ferrite nanoparticles

Abstract

Nanosized particles of CoFe2-xCexO4, with 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.29, were synthesized by the sol-gel autocombustion method and the microwave absorption of these ferrites was measured by the Magnetically Modulated Microwave Absorption (MAMMA) method. The results showed that the absorption is highest for a Ce concentration between 0.18 and 0.26, a result that could be useful for practical applications of this material.
