Abstract

Summary The flora of the Ogasawara Islands is briefly described, and the causes of its decline are discussed. The conservation of endangered plants of Ogasawara since the 1980s by the Koishikawa Botanical Garden, The University of Tokyo, is detailed, with notes on the pollination biology of endemic species.
